We stopped in for a few nights at Kaibae Beach Resort Koh Chang as the third stay of of recent island excursion. We had prebooked a “beachfront room with queen bed” on our preferred booking platform, Agoda at a cost of 2700 baht per night. When we arrived, the resort was busy with Songkran traffic and we had to wait a short time for our room. We took the time to explore the property, since our bags were fully attended to by the kind staff.

After a short wait, the reception staff led us to our room, which was literally right on the sand of the beach. What a great first impression! We love Kaibae Beach, since there is decent snorkeling right here off the sand! Our room was small and cute, with a front patio complete with some chairs to relax with a cool glass of wine while looking at the sea. Inside, the room was Spartan, with a bed, some small tables and the bathroom in the back.

The bed was ok for comfort, but not great. The worst part of the room was simply that unavoidable fact that the AC blew directly on the bed. Even if you stopped it from moving, the cold air was a bit much at night sleeping, but it was too hot without it, so we cuddled up and kept each other warm. The interior of the room was functional, but not luxurious. The bathroom followed the same design, with functionality being paramount over aesthetics. That being said, the shower was hot and the water pressure was fine, so it suited our needs for the 2 nights we stayed.

Kaibae Beach is a great quiet place to stay. It is very convenient to town, with tons of restaurants and some shops located an easy walk away. We took advantage of this and wandered into town several times, including a nice dinner near by. There are elephants that come to the northern end of the beach each morning to play and this is nice, since they seem to be treated well and do not seem to be overly exploited.
The beach is rocky here, but not so much that it interferes with swimming. Just be careful where you step, since there are some sea urchins on and around the rocks as you get in the water. We loved the chance to snorkel off the beach here and found some nice conditions to spend time with corals and various sea life near the tip of the peninsula at the north end of the beach (off the dock of Coral Resort). If you are coming here, be sure to bring your snorkel gear, since you can easily swim out far and there is lots to explore for people who are brave in open water.
Breakfast was nice each morning at Kaibae Beach Resort. There was enough stuff to eat, including for vegetarians, and the dining area was open air to minimize covid risk. We also had room service on the beach the first night for dinner and a mid day snack in their little restaurant. Prices were very cheap, the food was good and service came with a smile.

We loved our experience here at Kaibae Beach and would certainly return to stay here again. Kaibae Beach Resort Koh Chang was a very good value, especially with our adorable little room being truly ON the beach. We often book seafront rooms and find them set back very far. This one was almost in the water and it was great!
The pool at the resort was awkward and very crowded. We gave it a hard pass… The resort shares the beach with several others included KB Resort, KB Bungalows and Kaibae Beach Grand Villa Hotel. There is plenty of room here on the beach for everyone to enjoy and even over this major holiday, we did not find it to be too many people to spoil the fun or exotic atmosphere.

Thank you to the friendly and professional staff of Kaibae Beach Resort. You made us feel welcome and valued as guests. We appreciate your effort. It was an especially welcome change after our sorrowful experience at Chivapuri Resort days before. We recommend this as a great mid-price place to stay on Koh Chang. We are sure that you will enjoy it too!
