Jammy Journey stays in an amazing suite at The Riverie Chiang Rai. It is our pleasure to bring you this comprehensive review of our wonderful stay in Northernmost Thailand.

The very last stop on our epic Chiang Mai/Chiang Rai trip was The Riverie. This is probably the best reviewed and popular hotel in Chiang Rai and we soon discovered why! We will definitely stay again next time we return to the north of Thailand.
We booked a River Suite for a cost of about 4900 baht per night or approximately 160 dollars. This was one of their most expensive rooms, with regular rooms (that still looked great!) coming in at about half the cost. Upon check in, we reminded the hotel staff that we were here to review the stay, so they requested that we wait a bit so that they could give us a room with the best view.

We waited a bit in the lobby chatting with the Singh Family from Pattaya (who we saw repeatedly everywhere throughout our stay in Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai… It’s like we had a virtually identical agenda. What nice people!!!). In a few minutes, we were escorted to our room on the top floor. What a stunning room!
Our suite was a huge and our first thoughts were that it would make a great condo to live in! The room began with a small foyer with a refrigerator and bar area and then opened up to a full living room with television and super panoramic views. Through a pair of sliding doors awaited a lovely bedroom with a comfortable HUGE bed. This bed was wider and longer than king size at over 7 feet in each measurement! The bedroom had a variety of other furniture and also provided access to the bath.

The bathroom featured a lovely shower and tub, as well as all the toiletries any traveler could need. Every part of the bathroom (and the entire suite) was super clean and well built. We really loved this room! However, the best part was the huge terrace outside the living area…
The outdoor space was very large and enjoyed 270 degree views up and down the river. There were mountains in every view and some amazing temples, as well. In fact, after seeing the beautiful วัดห้วยปลากั้ง (Wat Huay Pla Kung) nearby, we decided that we must go visit the place, which we did! We took full advantage of the views here to shoot lots of Instagram pics and videos of nature, including the dramatic clouds and sunsets over the mountains. It was magical!
We enjoyed a great dinner at The Riverie Chiang Rai in their main restaurant named Blossom. We tried to eat at their roof top restaurant The Peak to enjoy the views and a bottle of wine, but were told by a staff member that there was no vegetarian food available. We found this weird and really off-putting, but we later found out from the front desk that all the restaurants were independently managed, so this terrible service is no reflection on the hotel itself. It was super uncool treatment though, if the management of The Peak happens to be reading this… Regardless, our meal at Blossom was exemplary, with great attentive service, delicious food and a good deal on a tasty wine, as well.

If each restaurant is independent, then we are thrilled to have helped financially support a place that welcomed us and provided vegetarian cuisine, rather than a place that was inhospitable and refused to provide a healthy and ethical food option… The Peak is the one who lost, not us! We went back to our room extremely satisfied with our meal at Blossom and slept so good in that gigantic bed!
Breakfast at Blossom was also wonderful! The culinary options were endless and everything was really great in flavor and presentation. Once again, food service was a truly attentive and this is something we always notice and appreciate!

The Riverie Chiang Rai is a huge place! The property is vast and features a kid’s club, enormous pool, 4 restaurants, conference and wedding facilities, an organic garden and a lovely riverside walkway. You could really stay on the property for days without seeing everything. We had a friendly, world-class stay here and this place is certainly our “go-to” recommendation for travelers to Chiang Rai.
See you again The Riverie Chiang Rai and thanks for a great stay! We imagine this is one of the best hospitality establishments in all of Northern Thailand based on our nearly flawless experience. Thanks to the staff!
