Ok, so one of the major ways to treat any addiction is to admit it and accept it, so with a deep breath, we are here to say,
“Hi. We are Jammy and Adam and we are travel addicts.”
Honesty feels so much better…
Jammy grew up traveling all over Thailand, as her father worked for the government and was often reassigned to different regions of the country. Jammy continued to travel as a teenager, including going abroad to America during her school years to visit her sister, who was an exchange student there. Jammy always dreamed about far away shores and was fortunate to have the chance to see many of them from an early age.
Adam first learned how great travel was as a child, since his mother took him on many trips. They never went too far, usually within New York State, but every trip was a great adventure that is still remembered to this day. Adam became immersed in travel through martial arts, with opportunities to train and teach throughout Asia. It was the martial arts that first brought him to Thailand, where he met Jammy.
When we were living in New York together, we did not travel very much. We did a few local trips in our area, but were just mesmerized by the communities where we lived in Oceanside and Long Beach, New York. Our last home was directly on the beach facing the great Atlantic Ocean. For beach lovers like us, there could be nothing better in life! We had it all right in our backyard: swimming, surfing, beach concerts and an amazing boardwalk just a block away. Our life in New York was really great, but eventually we both started to really miss the adventure of travel, so we set off to begin a new chapter of life. We moved to Bangkok, Thailand in 2014!
Once we settled into a Southeast Asian lifestyle, one of our priorities was to see everything we could in the region and take advantage of our geographic advantage to visit exotic places in less time and for less money than when we lived in America. We started slowly, but quickly gained momentum, traveling as many as 10 times in a single year. We want to accelerate this growth and get on the road more and more, as we just love the experience! The sights, sounds, tastes, ambiance and people of our international community make life so much more rewarding. We hope that we enrich the people we meet as much as they do us!
We have been all over Thailand and continue to find places that are serene, stunning and off the tourist trail. For such a small country, you would be amazed at just how many of these wonderful places still exist and how little coverage many of them receive in the media. We have also been to Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Vietnam and Maldives a few times. Maldives, in particular, really delights us, since it gives us all the oceanic activities we so desperately crave in one trip. The remote location, friendly people and pristine environment are difficult to beat. The only downside is, of course, the price tag… We have a growing list of places to visit, including some amazing locations to snorkel, swim and scuba lined up.
It was just recently that we decided to start listening to so many of our friends and travel companions who have been urging us for years to start a blog, YouTube channel or some social network presence to share our adventures. We definitely bring a unique perspective to our trips and find ourselves really loving the positive feedback from our early writings and pictures. We are ready now to really step into the role of travel-lifestyle influencers, since we already have the experience and the knowledge of the web, so it is a natural fit for us. Besides travel, we have a lot to say on the subject of health, eco-friendly lifestyle, food and wine. We don’t know if we will become “rock stars of the web”, but we are good people with a positive message and pure intentions to help people and preserve our planet. We are honest and sincere, if nothing else. We promise to grow our skills as photographers, cinematographers and writers as we go along. I am sure your feedback will be instrumental to helping us to become the best that we can be.
However, even though this is part of our story, the continuing adventure is actually all about you. We are doing this Jammy Journey project to invite you along with us as we live as expats in Thailand and travel the world trying to connect with people and raise awareness about preserving our beautiful world. We would not call ourselves missionaries, but we are certainly on a mission and that is to enrich ourselves and share our presence with people. Along the way, we would love to meet up with every single one of you.
If you are coming to Thailand, let us know! We also want to partner with like-minded people and companies who really care about the educational and social benefits of travel and a healthy lifestyle. Travel can be the thing that literally saves us all. Let’s get out there and meet each other, have fun, see our planet and face its issues head-on. If everyone does a little something for good, then it will all get done and our world will be much better, with a sustainable future filled with hope, instead of the depressing doomsday predictions from the nightly news. Together we can do it!
Please support us in our journey. We share our lives to help you to enjoy better, cheaper travels and to open every eye to the plight of preserving beauty in our amazing world. All we ask in return is a bit of your attention. In our modern world, it is just too easy to become numb to life. Don’t give in! You are important and your role in the planet is vital. Raise your voice and we can speak out together for good. Ready to go see some amazing places? Ready to do some incredible things? Most importantly, ready to have lots of fun? Let’s go together!
Stop dreaming about travel and start traveling! You will never regret it. Where do you REALLY want to go?
